Meet the Author
Ama Darkwa Holmes is an educator and entrepreneur who is fiercely dedicated to inspiring others, especially children. She is a wife, a mother, and a lifelong learner.
As a first-generation immigrant from Ghana, Ama moved to America with her family at age 6, to pursue educational opportunities and a better life. Guided by courage and the support of her family, mentors and friends, and empowered by resilience and knowledge, Ama has realized many of her goals and dreams. She has served as an educator, a business woman, a leader in the community and most recently, a children’s book author!
Ama feels blessed to have the opportunity to pay forward her many blessings and the guidance and encouragement she received growing up. She loves writing children’s books that represent the underrepresented and that highlight important messages, affirmations, morals and lessons. In all she does, Ama remains committed to her vision, that all children will realize their power and achieve their full potential.
